A mother defended her daughter’s actions when the school tried to punish her for hitting a boy. The boy had repeatedly been pinging her bra even though the girl told him to stop. When she complained to a teacher, she was told to ignore it.
The situation escalated, and the boy was able to undo her bra – that is when the girl turned and hit him. The school (in its infinite wisdom) decided that the girl should be punished for hitting the boy.
Her mother reacted to the principal by saying that her daughter had been defending herself against a sexual attack. The mother added that if the one person in the room (the teacher) was not going to help her, what was her daughter supposed to do?
The mother plans to press charges. The school thinks she is overreacting. One teacher said they didn’t think the boy’s actions were that serious and even the school counselor said the mother was overreacting. The mother asked the teacher why he didn’t stop the boy.
She then asked the teacher to come over so she could touch the front of his trousers – the teacher said no. The mother then said he should go over and tug on the counselor’s bra and asked if that seemed appropriate.
The school has moved the boy into another class away from the girl. The mother is right – this was a sexual attack. Schools and colleges across the country minimize the situation, and proper punishments are not given out. Shame on the teacher and the school. Share away, people.
